TRUST & PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

A clear account of what Svaachara handles, why it is needed and the choices you retain.

Effective 10 October 2026

Svaachara is designed as a personal companion for daily practice, Panchanga, reminders, japa and sacred reading.

Information you choose to provide

You may provide profile preferences such as your name, language, tradition, Sampradaya, practice-eligibility choices and selected practices. You may also record practice completion, japa or stotra counts, reminder preferences and personal alarms.

Creating a cloud-backup account is optional. If you create one, your email address is processed through Firebase Authentication. Svaachara does not store your plain-text password.

Location information

Svaachara uses the location you select to calculate local solar times, Panchanga information and relevant reminders. Device location permission is requested only when you deliberately choose the GPS option. Your selected place, coordinates and time zone are stored locally, and included in a private backup only when you voluntarily enable cloud backup.

Local storage and optional cloud backup

Core features can be used without a cloud account. In that mode, your profile and practice records remain on your device, subject to your device’s own backup and security settings.

If enabled, cloud backup sends selected app data to a private Firebase record associated with your authenticated account. This may include profile preferences, selected location, practice blueprint, completion history, japa or stotra records, reminders and settings. It is used only to restore or synchronise your Svaachara data.

How information is used

  • To personalise the app and apply practice-eligibility safeguards.
  • To calculate location-specific Panchanga and solar times.
  • To maintain your chosen practices, counts, reminders and history.
  • To authenticate an optional cloud account.
  • To provide optional backup, restore and deletion functions.

Svaachara does not currently sell personal data, display behavioural advertising or use third-party advertising trackers.

Service providers

Svaachara uses Google Firebase for optional authentication and cloud storage. Firebase processes information as a service provider under Google’s applicable terms and privacy protections.

Security

Cloud communications use encrypted network connections. Firestore access rules restrict each backup record to its authenticated owner. No system can guarantee absolute security, and Svaachara does not describe its current backup as end-to-end encrypted.

Retention and deletion

Local information remains on your device until you change it, reset the app, clear app storage or uninstall it, subject to device-level backup behaviour. Cloud data and the Svaachara account can be deleted from inside the app. Limited records may be retained temporarily where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or reliable deletion processing.

Children’s privacy

Svaachara is intended for adults and is not directed at children independently creating online accounts. A parent or guardian should supervise any minor’s use.

Religious and educational scope

Svaachara provides educational and organisational guidance. Practices vary by family, lineage, Sampradaya and qualified teacher. The app does not confer initiation, ritual qualification, spiritual authority or religious certification.

Changes and contact

This policy may change when app features, service providers or legal obligations change. For privacy questions or requests, write to privacy@svaachara.com.
